Fix Me App – Civic Engagement UI Concept
A conceptual project exploring how a mobile app could help residents report local issues, track their progress,
and strengthen community participation. The design focuses on clarity, accessibility, and a simple reward system
- Council Coins - that encourages active involvement.
Created in Figma, the project covers the full process from user flows and wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes.
Fix Me showcases my ability to design intuitive civic-tech solutions that strike a balance between usability, engagement, and visual consistency.

Design Process – A four-step approach:
Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver.

Research – Combining interviews, JTBD, CJM,
Kano model, and IA mapping.
User Research – Surveys and interviews uncovered key pain points: unclear reporting channels,
delayed responses, lack of transparency, and complex processes
User Quotes & Common Issues – Residents expressed frustration with unclear processes and lack of follow-up. Typical problems include potholes, broken streetlights, graffiti, and environmental hazards
In this phase I focused on mapping the customer journey to connect user actions
and emotions with clear business solutions
In this phase I focused on applying the Kano model to prioritise features based
on user expectations and their impact on satisfaction
In this phase I focused on defining the information architecture to create a clear and logical structure for the app.
In this phase, I focused on creating high-fidelity screens to demonstrate key user interactions within the app.
In this phase, I focused on building the visual identity for the app, defining the colour palette,
typography, and illustration style.

Visual Identity – Establishing colours, typography, and illustrations
to create a consistent and recognisable brand for Fix Me.
In this phase, I focused on creating a set of custom illustrations to represent common urban issues
simply and recognisably.
In this phase, I focused on defining the key application modules to guide the design of the user interface
In this phase, I focused on designing a simple and intuitive registration flow
to make onboarding quick and user-friendly
In this phase, I focused on designing the issue reporting flow
to make submitting a problem quick, clear, and efficient.
In this phase, I worked on the issue tracking flow to keep users
updated their reports with clear status and next steps.
CouncilCoins – Earn rewards for reporting issues and track your balance directly in the app to offset council tax.
In this phase, users can quickly find answers through the Help section –
from getting started and tracking cases to understanding CouncilCoins.
In this phase, the design system introduces structure –
with a clear grid that ensures balance, consistency, and harmony across the application
In this phase, the design system defines reusable components – from buttons and icons to forms and navigation elements – ensuring a consistent, scalable, and intuitive user experience.
This structured grid system marks the final step in the project, ensuring every element.
The Fix Me app is consistent, intuitive, and ready for real-world use
